Drive Standard Garage is a community platform for sim racers, owned and operated by Drive Standard Brand LLC™ (“we”, “us”, “our”) — the same affiliated organization behind Drive Standard Brand LLC and the Go Gear Drives media and educational channel. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We have written this in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, contact us at privacy@drivestandardgarage.com and we will explain it.

Drive Standard Garage is offered only in the United States, and this policy is written for members located in the United States.

The Service includes the arcade racing game Drive Standard Garage Track Trial (the “Game”). This policy uses “the Game” to mean that game.

Ownership & brand relationship

Drive Standard Garage is owned and operated by Drive Standard Brand™ LLC.
References throughout these legal documents to “Drive Standard Garage,” “Drive Standard Brand,” “Go Gear Drives,” “we,” “our” or “us” refer to the same affiliated organization unless otherwise specified.
Drive Standard Garage is a community platform created and maintained by Drive Standard Brand™.
Go Gear Drives is the official media and educational channel associated with Drive Standard Garage and Drive Standard Brand™ LLC.

1. Data minimization by design

Drive Standard Garage intentionally collects the minimum amount of personal information needed to operate the platform. Profiles are built around screen names rather than real identities.

We do not ask for, and you should not post, your real or full legal name, home address, exact location, phone number, date of birth, workplace, school, personal email address, government identification or any other sensitive personal information.
We do not collect location information about you. We never read your device location, and there is no ZIP code or location field on your profile. Location is only ever attached to a specific item: a deal listing you post, or an event record maintained by our staff (a public venue, never a member's address).
Deal listing location is optional and privacy-protected. You may give a ZIP code for the item so other members understand the general area; there is no free-text location field. We generate the broad area shown publicly (for example “Austin, TX area”) from that ZIP code, the ZIP code itself is never published, and buyer distances are calculated on our servers and rounded, so no address, neighbourhood or exact ZIP ever reaches another member's browser. It stays attached to that listing, is never added to your profile, is visible to staff only when needed to manage listings or review reports, is never used for advertising or profiling, and is deleted with the listing. Leaving it blank never blocks a listing.
Profile photos are optional. We offer built-in avatars so you never need to upload a picture of yourself.
Your email address is private: it is never shown publicly, never visible to other members and never exposed through public pages or APIs.

2. Information we collect

Everything we collect falls into the categories below. We collect nothing else.

Account information (private)

Your email address and password. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider; nobody at Drive Standard Garage, including administrators, can view your password.
Your email is used only for authentication, password recovery and essential account notices — and for marketing only if you separately opt in.
Account settings, roles, notification choices and interface preferences: your chosen theme and unlocked themes, your Motion & visual effects setting, and your list-or-card view preference. These are saved to your account so the Garage looks the same on every device, and kept in your browser as well so the correct look appears on the first paint. They are display settings only and are never used to profile you.

Public profile information (you control this)

Screen name or username, optional built-in avatar and a short sim racing bio.
Preferred platforms, favorite simulators, favorite racing disciplines and experience level.
Per-section visibility settings for your garage page. You choose separately whether your car builds, your sim rig, your saved favorites, the other garages you have starred as favorites and your Drive Standard Garage Track Trial high score are shown to visitors. When a section is switched off, visitors see only a locked panel and the content is never sent to their browser. You can edit or delete these details at any time from your profile page.

Content and activity you create

Equipment reviews, ratings, pros and cons, ownership details, sim rig profiles, equipment lists, build notes and setup files.
Listings and deals you share, including the external link, title, price, condition, description and the connection you state to the listing (your own listing, or a deal you found). We store that label as your own statement and do not verify it. Please do not enter a seller's name, phone number, email address, exact address or screenshots of private messages, and do not upload another seller's photos.
Comments you post, shown publicly with your display name, together with the time posted and any edits. Helpful and not-helpful votes, stored against your account so you can see and change your own vote while only totals are shown publicly. Bookmarks and saved items, which are private to your account.
Photos you upload, stored on our hosting infrastructure and visible according to the visibility of the profile or post they belong to. Photo files can carry embedded metadata such as camera model and GPS location — please strip it before uploading. The upload rules are in the Terms of Use.
Reports you submit, including the reason, your details and a snapshot of the reported item. Reports are visible only to administrators and to moderators granted report access, and are retained after review. Your name and email address are never shown to the member you reported; only staff holding a specific reporter-contact permission can see your email address, and only to follow up from our service address. Every such view and message is recorded in an internal audit trail.

Drive Standard Garage Track Trial

You can play the Game without an account. What it keeps depends on whether you are signed in.

Kept only in your browser, never sent to us: your best score and best score per car, the car and background music you last chose, music on or off, music and engine volume, and a note that you have seen the flashing-lights and motion notice. These are numbers and settings only — no name, no location, no play history — and clearing your site data erases them permanently.
Saved to your account when you play signed in: the scores you finish a run with including laps, points and car; your best score per car so unlocks work; the dates you played and how many runs that day; which in-game rivals (bosses) you have beaten and how many times, so progress follows your account across devices; and milestones, badges, driver level, Garage Points and any theme unlocked through play.
We do not record your inputs, screen, camera, microphone, device sensors or location while you play. Everything above is deleted with your account, including leaderboard entries.

Leaderboards and public play data

The in-game leaderboard shows only the display name on your public profile, laps completed, points and the car used. Your email address, ZIP code, general location, visit history and account settings are never shown on it.
Leaderboard entries follow the “Track Trial high score” visibility setting in your profile. With it switched off, your runs appear as “PRIVATE DRIVER”. Badges, driver level and points on your garage page follow your garage visibility settings.
Playing signed out never puts anything on the leaderboard. Ask us at privacy@drivestandardgarage.com to remove an entry, or delete your account to remove them all.

Points, badges and unlocks

Garage Points, badges, driver levels, milestones and unlocked themes are recognition inside the Garage. They have no cash value, are not currency, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or redeemed, and are not a financial product.

We may adjust or remove them where scores were clearly manipulated, where automation or shared accounts were used to farm them, or to correct an error. Staff changes are written to our administrative audit log with a reason. The full rules are in the Terms of Use.

Technical, security and abuse-prevention data

We do not use a third-party analytics product, advertising pixel, tag manager or session-recording tool.

Our hosting and database providers process technical request information such as IP address, browser type and timestamps to deliver pages, apply rate limits and protect against abuse. This is infrastructure and security logging, not visitor profiling, and it is never used for advertising.
Automated abuse protection runs on account creation, sign-in, password reset requests and community posting. It records the action attempted, the outcome (allowed, slowed, challenged or refused), the time, and a short non-reversible fingerprint derived from your connection and browser. Your IP address is never stored in these records and the fingerprint cannot be reversed to identify you. For submitted text we also keep a non-reversible hash for a short period so identical repeated posts can be detected without storing a second copy of what you wrote.
Where a signup looks automated, the account may be created but held for staff review; rapid posting can trigger a short automatic timeout that expires on its own. These measures look at behavior, not identity, and shared connections such as homes, schools, offices and mobile networks are treated as normal. We may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-preserving check, on account and password forms, only to tell a person from a script.
Our creator media kit sits behind an access code. To stop it being guessed, we record each unlock attempt as a short non-reversible fingerprint with the outcome and time. We never store the code typed, your name, your email address or your IP address alongside it.
Protection records are kept only as long as needed for that purpose and then deleted automatically.

Optional analytics and aggregate counts

Optional analytics is off until you allow it, and consists only of anonymous counts from The Starting Line introduction: an event name (for example a step reached) and, optionally, a general interest category. No identifier, IP address, fingerprint or location is stored with them, they are written only to our own database, and they are never shared with another provider.
The Starting Line itself needs no account. Any interests you pick are stored in your own browser to point you at a relevant section; they are not attached to your name, email or account.
Your privacy choice is recorded so we can honour it and show that optional analytics ran only with permission. The record holds the choice made, whether analytics was allowed, the policy version and the time — not your identity.
Where analytics is allowed we keep daily per-section totals of page views and visitor counts, and a daily tally of which garage theme was selected. These are numbers only, with no member or device attached. Staff dashboards (sign-ups, posts, active accounts, players, theme popularity) are built from these aggregates, not from individual browsing histories.
Administrator and moderator browsing is excluded from usage measurement, so staff activity never counts as visitor traffic.
For signed-in members we store one date per day you open the Garage, and one date per day you play our games with that day's run count, so staff can tell active accounts from dormant ones and see return and player counts. Dates only — no clock time, IP address, device details, page history or location — written at most once per day, readable only by staff and by you for your own account, never shown to other members, never used for advertising or profiling, kept for 24 months and deleted with your account.
Staff dashboards also show how many players have beaten each in-game rival, as a share of everyone who has played, and staff can see which rivals an individual member has beaten on that member's staff-only account card. This is Game progress only — no scores, contacts, device details or location — it is never shown to other members, and it is deleted with your account.
When you use the share button we count that a share happened, and for signed-in members which channel, so we can award the sharing achievement. Share links carry a short signed code identifying the shared item, not the person opening it. Share images are drawn in your own browser from information already public on the page — no copy is uploaded to us, and we cannot see what you do with it, who you shared with, your contacts or your messages.

Administrative audit logging

Separately from analytics, we record actions taken by administrators and moderators so those actions stay accountable. This is a security and integrity record, not tracking: we log the staff account and display name, what was done, what it applied to, any reason or internal note, and the time. No device fingerprinting is used for this purpose.

Moderation actions on member content; account actions such as warnings, submission blocks, suspensions, terminations and role changes; reputation actions such as point adjustments, badge changes and community verification overrides; platform, security, legal and policy configuration changes; intellectual-property and content enforcement records including repeat-infringement history; and whether a member confirmed they had the right to submit their content, and when.
These records are visible only to authorized staff, are never shown publicly or to a member's audience, and are retained for 24 months before automatic deletion.

Communications, waitlists and requests

If you create an account, join a waitlist or contact support, we store your email address and the messages exchanged. Account and service messages — verification, password and security messages, moderation notices, important account changes, required legal notices, and messages about your own content such as a listing about to expire, extended or expired — are operational, not marketing, and never contain promotions or unrelated offers.
In-app notifications are generated server-side from verified platform events involving your account or content. A notification records the event type, the related content, the display name of the member whose action triggered it where relevant, and the time — never email or IP addresses. Repeat activity is grouped, only you can see your notifications, members cannot create notifications for other members, and staff access them only where necessary for moderation, troubleshooting or security. They are in-app only, kept for a limited period (180 days by default) and then deleted automatically.
You can turn community notification categories off in your garage settings. Essential security, authentication, account, legal and moderation communications remain available while your account is active.
Feature waitlist: if you ask to be told when AI-assisted features launch we store the email address you give, the simulator you mention, any optional note, whether you also chose to receive news and offers, and the time you joined. The news and offers choice is separate, clearly labeled and pre-selected on that form; you can clear it before submitting, submitting again updates it, every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not remove you from the waitlist itself. It is the only marketing opt-in we currently offer, and we never sell your email address.
Account deletion requests: we store the request itself — your account reference, any reason you give, its status and when it was processed — so we can carry it out and evidence that we honoured it.
Saving the Garage to your home screen is done entirely by your browser and gives us no additional access to your device and no additional information. Dismissing that tip is stored only in your own browser.

3. Your public display name

Drive Standard Garage is built around display names (screen names) rather than real identities. Your display name is the only name other members ever see — your email address is never public.

For your own privacy we recommend a nickname such as “ApexDriver24” rather than your full real name. This is a recommendation, not a restriction: we do not inspect display names, and you are responsible for what you choose to reveal about yourself.

Your display name can appear anywhere your account is credited: your public profile; deals and listings you post; car builds; sim rigs; reviews, ratings and helpfulness votes; comments; the Community Spotlight; driver level, reputation and achievement displays; the Drive Standard Garage Track Trial leaderboard; and activity notifications relating to your content or someone else's.
Administrators and moderators see your display name alongside moderation tooling, and staff actions are recorded in an internal audit trail with the acting staff member's display name.
Switching garage sections to private hides them from your garage page, but content you already published remains attributed to your display name where it was published unless you delete it.
You can change your display name at any time from your profile page; existing public content then shows the new name.

4. How we use information

To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
To display the content you choose to publish to the audience you choose, and to operate community features such as reviews, votes, saves, rigs and the Game.
To moderate content, enforce our policies, prevent abuse and investigate reports.
To measure and improve performance, usability and accessibility.
To send service messages and, where you have opted in, community or product updates.
To comply with legal obligations and to protect the rights, safety and property of users, the public and Drive Standard Brand LLC.

5. Legal bases for processing

Drive Standard Brand LLC™ is responsible for the information described in this policy. Contact for data protection matters: privacy@drivestandardgarage.com.

We do not use automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Abuse protection can only slow, challenge or hold an action for staff review, and any outcome is reviewable by a person.

Contract: providing the account and platform features you request, and taking and administering any membership payment through Stripe, including keeping your subscription status current.
Legitimate interests: security, abuse prevention, service improvement and aggregate measurement.
Consent: optional analytics, marketing email and any optional feature that asks permission. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation: responding to lawful requests and retaining records where required.

6. Third-party integrations and service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the platform. They process data on our behalf under contractual restrictions: our cloud hosting, database, file storage and authentication provider; our transactional email delivery provider; Cloudflare Turnstile for bot checks on account and password forms; error monitoring used to diagnose faults; and an AI gateway used for internal staff tooling. We do not use a third-party visitor analytics product. Stripe, Inc. is our payment processor for memberships: you enter your card and billing details directly with Stripe under its own terms and privacy notice, we never receive or store your full card number, and from Stripe we receive only your subscription status and membership tier, the end of your current paid period, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, a payment identifier that does not reveal your card, your billing country and any tax information required for the sale. We use that billing data only to manage your membership and benefits and to meet tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes we will update this policy and provide the required notices and opt-out controls before the change takes effect.

Embedded video and other external content

Some pages can show a YouTube video attached to a guide, rig or car build. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you choose to load it — not even the thumbnail: until then you see a placeholder explaining that the content is provided by a third party. When you tap Load video we use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player domain, after which YouTube receives your IP address and may store information on your device under its own policies. If you do not load it, the rest of the page works normally.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser, and related technologies such as local storage and session storage do the same kind of job. This section covers all of them, reflects an audit of what the live application actually uses, and replaces our former separate Cookies Policy. Every technology we use is listed in the table at the end of this policy.

We use a small set of necessary first-party technologies, one optional analytics measurement that runs only if you allow it, and no advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking technology at all. The Marketing category appears in the preference panel only for transparency, marked “Not currently used”; if we ever introduce advertising technologies we will ask for fresh permission where the law requires it rather than relying on an earlier choice.

Your privacy choices

On your first visit we show a short privacy choice with three equally available options: Accept optional, Necessary only and Manage. Nothing optional runs until you choose, and choosing Necessary only genuinely prevents optional analytics from operating rather than just hiding the banner.

You can reopen Cookie & Privacy Preferences from the footer of any page at any time, and withdrawing permission is exactly as easy as granting it. Turning Analytics off stops it immediately and removes any storage created solely for it, while leaving your sign-in session, security values and interface preferences alone. Consent configuration: version 1 — if we materially change what optional information is collected or why, we will ask again where required; wording or layout changes do not reset your choice.

If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as Necessary only, do not ask you to opt in, and never override it with a less privacy-protective site setting. Older “Do Not Track” headers are not a standardized opt-out, but our default of no optional technology before consent gives the same result.

How your choice is stored

It is kept in your own browser's local storage as a first-party value containing only the consent version, whether analytics is allowed, the date and time, and how the choice was made — no name, email address, account ID, IP address or browsing history, and not readable by third parties.
It is not synchronised to your account, because a privacy choice belongs to the browser and device you made it on. Using another browser, device or private window, or clearing site data, will ask you once again.
We keep an anonymous count of choices made so we can confirm the system works. Those counts contain no identity.
The installed app behaves the same way, and we do not ask again just because the site is running from your home screen.
You can also clear cookies and site data for this site in your browser at any time, which signs you out and resets every preference. Blocking necessary storage will prevent sign-in and may stop parts of the Garage from working.

8. Affiliate links

Some outbound links on Drive Standard Garage are affiliate links: Drive Standard Brand LLC may earn a commission when you click one and make a qualifying purchase, including through marketplace programs such as the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. This costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as without our link — and we are not told which individual made a purchase. Commissions help fund hosting, development and the free educational content here. This section is our affiliate disclosure and replaces our former separate page.

Affiliate relationships never influence review scores, ratings, rankings or what we choose to cover. We include gear with no affiliate program and recommend used or budget options that earn us nothing when they are the better buy, we say when a product disappoints, and sponsored or gifted content is labeled as such. Member-written reviews are their own opinions, and members must disclose any brand relationship, free product or discount.

Where a link is an affiliate link we label it or note it nearby. Community-posted listings normally link straight to a marketplace or seller and are not affiliate links; members must disclose it if theirs are. Sections such as “Featured from Drive Standard Brand” promote products sold by the same company that operates this platform — treat them as our own promotion rather than independent editorial recommendation. Being selected for Go Gear Drives is free, is never sold and requires no purchase or membership.

Clicking any link, affiliate or not, takes you to a third-party website: we do not sell those products, process payments or handle shipping, returns or warranties, and prices, discounts and stock change without notice, so confirm current details on the retailer's own page. If we ever add display advertising or sponsored placements they will be labeled, kept visually distinct from editorial content, and will not alter review scores. 9. External links and third-party websites

Drive Standard Garage lets members share links to external listings and resources, including marketplaces, retailers, forums and video platforms. When you follow one you leave our platform and the destination site's own privacy practices apply. We do not control and are not responsible for those sites. Our listing and marketplace disclaimers are in the Terms of Use.

10. Public content and visibility

Reviews, shared listings, comments and public rig profiles are visible to anyone who can access the platform. The site currently asks search engines not to index its pages, so public content should not appear in search results today, but that setting can be lifted as the Garage grows and it does not stop anyone from viewing, copying or resharing a page they can already reach. Garage sections you switch to private are not sent to a visitor's browser at all, but administrators may access that content where necessary for moderation, security or legal compliance. Please do not publish anything you would not want to be public.

11. Data retention

Account and profile data: kept while your account is active.
User-generated content: kept while published, and retained in backups for a limited period after deletion. Comments you delete are hidden from other members immediately, then kept briefly for moderation, appeals and legal records.
Listings: expire on their published lifespan and are then marked expired; the record is kept for your history and for moderation, security and abuse prevention.
Reports and moderation records: retained after resolution so we can enforce our policies consistently and handle repeat issues. Administrative audit records: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
Notifications: 180 days by default, then deleted automatically. Abuse-protection fingerprints and content hashes: a few days, then deleted automatically.
Visit dates and game play dates (staff only): kept for 24 months, then removed, and deleted with your account.
Logs and security records: kept only as long as needed to investigate abuse and keep the platform running, then deleted or reduced to aggregate counts. Analytics data: retained only in aggregated or de-identified form.
Membership and billing records: for members who subscribe we keep the membership records described under third-party providers — subscription status and tier, current paid-period dates, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, a payment identifier that does not reveal your card, billing country and any required tax information — for as long as your membership is active and afterwards for as long as needed for tax, accounting, dispute and legal purposes. We never hold your full card number; card details stay with Stripe.
Records we must keep for legal, tax, dispute or abuse-prevention reasons: retained for as long as required. Where no fixed period applies, we keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for.

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on the state you live in you may have some or all of the following rights, and we apply these practices to everyone where practical.

Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and correct anything inaccurate or incomplete — most profile and content details you can edit yourself from your profile page.
Delete your account and personal information, subject to the legal, moderation and safety records described under retention.
Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
Receive your data in a portable format.
Opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link, and turn community notification categories off in your garage settings.
Accept or decline optional analytics, and change that choice later using the Cookie & Privacy Preferences link in the footer of any page.
Be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

How to make a request

Email privacy@drivestandardgarage.com from the address associated with your account, or use the tools in your account settings. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We aim to respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, generally within 30 days. You may authorize an agent to act for you where the law allows.

Editing and deleting your information

You can update or clear your profile details and delete your own rigs, builds, listings, comments, reviews and uploads from your profile page, and request deletion of your whole account there.

When we delete an account we remove or de-identify your profile and personal information and remove your sign-in credentials. Public contributions such as reviews may be removed or retained in anonymised form so community discussions remain coherent — tell us in your request if you want them removed as well. Moderation and enforcement records and anonymised aggregate counts are retained, and residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten. We may also remove accounts or content that violate our Terms of Use.

13. Security measures

No online service can be completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required regulators as the law requires.

Encryption in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and encryption at rest for stored data where supported by our providers.
Row-level access controls in our database so users can only read and write the records they are entitled to.
Hashed passwords and provider-managed session tokens.
Least-privilege administrative access and audit logging. Staff may look at member data only where needed for moderation, support, security or legal compliance, and those actions are written to the internal audit log described above.
Uploads are checked for size and real file type before they are stored, so disguised or oversized files are rejected rather than served to other members.
Private values are kept out of public read paths entirely: email addresses, deal ZIP codes, event internal notes and visit dates are not exposed through public pages or APIs, and buyer distances are calculated on our servers and rounded before they are sent to a browser.
Ongoing monitoring for abuse, and prompt patching of dependencies.

14. Where your information is processed

We operate from the United States and the Service is offered only in the United States. Your information is processed in the United States, and some of our service providers may process it in other countries where they operate. We do not offer the Service to users outside the United States.

15. Children's privacy

Drive Standard Garage is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old to create or use an account, as stated in the Terms of Use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has given us personal information, contact privacy@drivestandardgarage.com and we will delete it.

To check eligibility we ask for your date of birth once during registration, and once at sign-in for older accounts where it was never established. It is used only to decide whether you meet the minimum age. We do not store your date of birth: we keep only whether the check passed, when it happened and which policy version applied. It is never displayed, never added to your profile, and never used for advertising, recommendations, analytics or profiling. This is an eligibility check, not identity verification, and we never request identification documents, photographs of you or biometric information.

16. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion or correction; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

The categories we collect are described in “Information we collect” above: identifiers, internet activity information, approximate geolocation, audio-visual information (photos you upload) and user-generated content. We disclose these categories to the service providers listed above for the business purposes in this policy. As stated under third-party providers, we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of consumers under 16.

To exercise your rights, email privacy@drivestandardgarage.com. California residents may also request information about disclosures to third parties for direct marketing purposes under the “Shine the Light” law.

17. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the platform evolves. When changes are material we will update the effective date, note the change in the revision history and, where appropriate, notify you by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect.
